Role overview
Join us as a [Motion Health] Algorithm & Data Scientist, designing and implementing algorithms for motion analysis and building robust data analysis pipelines. You’ll take a central role in advancing the analytics engine of our software platform, transforming movement data into personalized, actionable insights for our users.
You’ll lead new algorithm development, large-scale data analysis, platform optimization that drives fast and actionable insights. Your efforts will foster cross-functional collaboration across diverse projects in a fast-moving startup environment.

What you’ll do
- Algorithm Development: Create and implement efficient, state-of-the-art algorithms for processing movement data, in close collaboration with the Engineering leads to drive impactful insights that improve human performance and health.
- Data Analysis: Design and implement scalable pipelines to process large, high-dimensional movement datasets, extract actionable insights, and deliver intuitive, user-focused outputs that drive better decision-making.
- Platform Optimization: Drive ongoing improvements across the platform’s core components to enhance stability, scalability, and computational efficiency.
- Startup Mindset: Be adaptable and proactive in a fast-paced environment, taking ownership of diverse projects, meeting deadlines, and contributing across multiple areas of the platform.
Who you are
- Proficiency in working with time-series data, including use of Python libraries such as NumPy, pandas, SciPy, scikit-learn, and relevant visualization tools.
- Experience applying machine learning, deep learning, and statistical methods to time-series or movement data, with proficiency in libraries such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.
- Expertise in data science, statistical modeling, and signal analysis to interpret complex datasets and extract actionable insights.
- Master’s degree in Engineering (or related field) with 3+ years of relevant technical experience, or a PhD in Engineering (or related field).
- Strong ability to communicate technical findings to multidisciplinary teams, including non-technical stakeholders.
- Leadership and mentorship potential. Able to mentor and guide future team members, help shape technical direction, and contribute to building a collaborative, high-performing team as the company grows.
Nice to have
- Experience designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines to efficiently process large-scale time-series or movement datasets.
- Familiarity with musculoskeletal modeling and simulation tools such as OpenSim, MuJoCo, or similar physics engines.
- Familiarity with computer vision models and frameworks such as OpenCV, YOLO, or similar tools for image and video analysis.
